The Vision of Pramukh Swami Maharaj
Akshardham was not merely built; it was envisioned as a “place of education, entertainment, and enlightenment.” Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the fifth spiritual successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, desired a place that could showcase the values of non-violence, prayer, and family harmony to the modern world.

One of the highlights of Akshardham is the 12-minute boat ride that transports visitors through 10,000 years of Indian history. Sahaj Anand Water Show
As the sun sets, the Yagnapurush Kund—India’s largest step-well—becomes the stage for a spectacular multi-media show. It uses water jets, lasers, underwater flames, and surround sound to narrate a story from the Kena Upanishad about the victory of the Devas over their own ego.
